Zones are used in Blinks configurations to define an area of control. This could be a room, an outdoor area, or a series of adjoining areas that use one volume control. Although this zone will usually be controlling a series of different sources such as, the bluray player, iPod or MySky, only one source will be on at any given time. This is the definition of a zone for audio visual applications.

Lighting applications can have overlapping elements such as lights, channels and scenes that may appear in more than one zone.
